  • Successful completion of year 12 or pathway through certificate IV level qualification from the HLT or CHC training package
  • All the applicants are required to have successfully completed an ACSF test and demonstrate competence as exit level 3 in reading and numeracy to enrol for this qualification (issued within the last 12 months from the time of admission)
  • Basic computer literacy skills
  • NMBA specified level of English language skills.

The Diploma of Nursing has entry criteria set by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council. All students entering this course must demonstrate they have achieved the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) specified level of English language skills before commencing the HLT54121 – Diploma of Nursing course.

Diploma of Leadership and Management is  designed for people who are looking to level up within the Leadership and Management sector.

You are, however, required to meet the admission criteria in order to meet industry requirements. This includes that you have:

  • 18 years of age and above
  • Basic computer skills
  • Successfully complete an ACSF test and can work at Level 4 for all indicators (issued within the last 12 months from the time of admission)

The Diploma of Mental Health is a professional accreditation that focuses on the skills required to provide care for people with mental health issues.

You are, however, required to meet the admission criteria in order to meet industry requirements. This includes that you have:

  • 18 years of age and above
  • A National Police Clearance or Australian Federal Police (AFP) Clearance certificate
  • Immunisation (this is required for the Professional Experience Placement)
  • Successful completion of year 12 or pathway through certificate IV level qualification from the HLT or CHC training package
  • Successful completion of the language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) test and demonstration of competence level as exit level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both reading and numeracy
  • Specified level of English language skills
  • Basic computer literacy skills

 

The course modules are structured in a way to  provide a balance  of theory and practice relevant to the career opportunities in the aged care industry.

IHNA has in place admission criteria for courses in its scope as required by its ‘Application and Enrolment Procedure for VET Courses’ to ensure that candidates meet industry requirements.

  • 18 years of age and above and need to be Secondary School year 10 pass, OR
  • Be of mature age which can be demonstrated by a candidate who is at least of 21 years and has a qualification at Certificate II level or higher, OR has 2 years industry experience in a role that requires the use of written documentation and communication
  • Basic computer skills
  • Successfully complete an ACSF test and can work at Level 3 for all indicators (issued within the last 12 months from the time of admission)

Physical requirements that are necessary to pass the course objectives are:

  • Strength: To assist with lifting and transferring a client, and perform CPR
  • Mobility: To bend, stoop, and bend down to the floor; ability to move around rapidly; and to move in small, confined spaces
  • Hearing: To hear through the stethoscope to discriminate sounds; to hear cries for help; to hear alarms on equipment and emergency signals; and various overhead pages
  • Vision: To make physical assessments of client and equipment
  • Communication: To communicate in both verbal and written formats; and interact with clients, staff, and faculty supervisors

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are encouraged to apply.

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who: hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

 

The Diploma of Community Services (Case Management) is a professional accreditation that focuses on the skills required for the community services sector.
